In this beginner-level drawing lesson, explore the fundamentals of drawing and acquire the skills needed to create simple sketches. You'll also learn perspective and point of view. We'll cover line work, shading, and basic shapes. Perfect for complete beginners. Participants bring their own materials. No prior experience is required.
Mixed Media: Dry and Wet Color with black ink

Instructor will provide introduction to use layering of dry color medias to create painterly effects. One drawing will be done without subject, to learn process of mixing medias for effects. Begin with compositional cropping tool to isolate interesting recognizable subject.
Begin with a contour line drawing using India ink with either brush or stick, followed by dry color conte sticks, then color wet washes, light touch. Determine value contrast, mixing medias in layers to obtain unique color ideas. Work background to foreground, pick an area in focus, more detail, paying attention to positive-negative spaces and shapes, soft and hard edges.

Corner-to-corner crochet, or C2C, is a fun and relaxing crochet technique where you begin in one corner and work small blocks' along the diagonal to the other corner. Working this technique means that you can create almost any image by using a graph containing the image that you want to crochet. By the end of class you will be able to make a C2C heart sampler.
